Mothership Live Over Freak Valley released 15th January 2016 on Ripple Music
Stream and share the live version of ‘Serpents Throne’ here –https://soundcloud.com/ripple-music/04-serpents-throne
“Such a killer find, man. Can’t wait to see them live!”
Dom Lawson, Metal Hammer
“They represent everything that is great with rock and roll from everything in the past, to everything in the future and everything in between. Mothership is the future of rock and roll. These guys are just going to keep getting bigger and bigger. You watch.”
The Evil Engineer
After the rerelease of their momentous second album and a storming start to 2015, Mothership – the hard rocking supersonic/intergalactic Texan trio – are pleased to announce the arrival of Mothership Live Over Freak Valley this Janaury on Ripple Music.
Recorded at their debut European appearance at the iconic German rock festival, brothers Kyle and Kelly Juett along with Judge Smith have captured their steaming hot stew of UFO and Iron Maiden inspired metal; southern Molly Hatchet and ZZ Top swagger, and deathly Sabbathian doom. A concoction that should by all accounts prove too heavy to handle on record, but as fans will soon discover, Mothership Live Over Freak Valley will deliver the filth and fury of the full Mothership live experience.
Since 2013 the band has travelled non-stop, playing live across the USA, Canada, United Kingdom and Europe; taking to festival stages, nightclubs, and under the sun at whatever motorcycle parties they could find. They are for all intents and purposes a heavy rock juggernaut that has only just begun to tear a hole in the cosmos. And guess what? They have no plans of slowing down for anyone.
All this month Mothership embark on a US tour with Corrosion of Conformity, Brant Bjork and Saviours where the band will have CDs of Mothership Live Over Freak Valley on sale ahead of its official vinyl release on Ripple Music in the New Year. To catch them live and for the full list of dates see below, and to stream and share the live version of ‘Serpents Throne’ follow the link here –https://soundcloud.com/ripple-music/04-serpents-throne
Mothership is Kelley Juett (guitars/vocals), Kyle Juett (bass/vocals) and Judge Smith (drums).

CHRON GOBLIN stream ‘The Wailing Sound’ with Invisible Oranges | New album Backwater released this Friday on Ripple Music

Stream and share ‘The Wailing Sound’ by Chron Goblin, exclusively via Invisible Oranges:
Signed to the California-based label Ripple Music – home to the likes of Sweat Lodge, Mothership, Mos Generator and JPT Scare Band – Canada’s heavy-riffin’ four-piece Chron Goblin are now only weeks away from the release of their new album, Backwater.
Venturing to Portland to work with Adam Pike at Toadhouse Studios in February 2015, the band’s intention was to explore the heavy sonic principles of the Pacific Northwest and embrace Portland’s music scene. Under the tutelage of Pike, who recorded Red Fang’s debut album and tours with them as their front of house engineer, he served as an integral component in achieving the band’s aspirations in the studio and ensuring their exploits across the city were well advised.
Swagger and muscle, charm and wit, Chron Goblin pair melody with aggression and groove for a fresh interpretation of heavy. Following the success of 2013’s sophomore album Life For The Living, and having toured the UK, USA and Canada, the band’s third full-length album Backwater picks up where the former left off. Holy Grove vocalist, Andrea Vidal, features on the ethereal first half of ‘The Wailing Sound’, a track offering contrasts to brain pummelling heavy rockers such as ‘Fuller’, ‘Give Way’, and the meandering complexities of ‘The Return’.
Backwater will be released through Ripple Music worldwide on November 13 2015 but in the meantime, you can stream and share ‘The Wailing Sound’ by Chron Goblin, exclusively via Invisible Oranges here – http://www.invisibleoranges.com/2015/11/chron-goblin-the-wailing-sound-track-premiere/

WO FAT announce signing to Ripple Music, Desertfest & Hellfest Appearances and new album Midnight Cometh for Spring 2016

“Wo Fat stand atop the the genre that inspired them and have set about remaking it in their image.”
The Obelisk
“The band’s power lies in how loose they feel; they don’t rely on theatrics or clever bridges but instead sound confident swinging a bluesy sledgehammer of a riff right into a free-burning solo.”
MetalSucks
After slinging their Texas-sized psychedelic blues doom for over a decade, Dallas legends Wo Fat are pleased to announce that they have signed to the California-based label Ripple Music.
“We are thrilled to be working with our brothers in the riff at Ripple for this new record!” says vocalist Kent Stump. “We’ve been friends with Todd and Pope for a while and have always had a lot of respect for them personally, as well as the label itself, and we just kinda realised, that, hey, we should be working together. They are passionate about the music they release, they make really good choices when it comes to signing bands, they’re all about treating artists fairly and trying to help this scene grow, and they’re also a label on the rise.”
Throughout their sonic odyssey spanning five studio albums, a live album, and two splits, beginning in 2006 with The Gathering Dark, they have stayed true to the deep, dark blues that wail from within and have continually forged their riffs with a primal groove. Going stronger and rocking harder than ever before, the band are currently readying their next chapter – and first with Ripple – with the release of their brand new album Midnight Cometh. Looming on the horizon and due for release in Spring 2016, this newest slab of riffage lurking in your future is easily their most daring and psychotropic exploration of heaviness to date.
“We’ve been huge fans of Wo Fat and their maniacal brand of riff-heavy psychedelic grooves,” explains Ripple Music’s Todd Severin, “And they never fail to be one of the most mesmerising bands we’ve ever seen on stage. We’re beyond thrilled to welcome them into the Ripple family.”
The critical success of their albums, most notably 2009’s Psychedelonaut, which truly solidified the Wo Fat name in the Stoner Rock community and secured them world wide recognition, helped land the band appearances at the legendary Roadburn Festival, Desertfest, Freak Valley Festival, Psycho California Festival and Sylak Open Air Festival as parts of a number of successful international tours.
Midnight Cometh is slated for release in Spring 2016 and will be supported by a European tour, which will also include appearances at Desertfest in Berlin and London (www.thedesertfest.com), and Hellfest, France (www.hellfest.fr).

DoctoR DooM announce new album This Seed We Have Sown | Stream and share new song ‘Relax, You’re Dead’

This Seed We Have Sown by DoctoR DooM will be released on 24th July on Ripple Music and vinyl release end of June on STB Records
Listen to ‘Relax, You’re Dead’ by DoctoR DooM – https://soundcloud.com/ripple-music/doctor-doom-relax-youre-dead

“With a devilish affection, the band conjures up a foggy brew of wicked blues and righteous stoner rock.”
Heavy Planet
“DoctoR DooM does everything you could possibly ask of them to introduce themselves as major new players in the heavy rock underground.”
The Ripple Effect
Formed in the French town of Ariège in the Midi-Pyrénées by guitarists Jean-Laurent Pasquet and Jérémie Delattre, since their formation in 2011 DoctoR DooM have blazed an impressive underground trail for followers of new, authentically crafted hard rock, metal and progressive blues.
Having come together out of a shared appreciation for forgotten 60s and 70s music, it didn’t take long for the duo to find kindred spirits in drummer Michel Marcq and bass player Sébastien Boutin Blomfield as they sought to pull together the rhythm section required to knock out a monumentally heavy live set. Initially performing covers of Coven, Thin Lizzy and Deep Purple, out of the riffs and drum rolls of old grew new, original numbers that would later surface fully formed on their 2012 debut DoomO EP on STB Records.
Inspired by the recent wave of Scandinavian stoner/rock bands such as Graveyard, Witchcraft and Spiders, throughout 2013 and 2014 DoctoR DooM took part in a series of high profile festival appearances including Spain’s Riff Ritual Fest, Doom Over Karalis in Sardinia and Germany’s much-celebrated DesertFest before taking to the studio at the end of last year to record their very first LP.
This Seed We Have Sown by DoctoR DooM will be released worldwide on 24th July 2015 on Ripple Music, with a limited vinyl released on STB Records out toward the end of June.

DoctoR DooM:
Jean-Laurent Pasquet (Vocal, Guitar)
Jérémie Delattre (Guitar)
Sébastien Boutin Blomfield (Bass, Keys)
Michel Marcq (Drums)

New Ape Machine LP/DVD set Live At Freak Valley from Ripple Music out 26th May | Stream and share video for ‘Strange Are The People’

Share the new video from Ape Machine’s forthcoming Live At Freak Valley DVD here – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZ1ABoEFgj8&feature=youtu.be
The daring new release was filmed and recorded at the Freak Valley Festival in Germany last year; an event that has proven to be a veritable showcase and ‘Who’s Who’ in the brave new world of upcoming psychedelic and heavy stoner-rock bands. The set features Ape Machine’s blistering hour-long performance in front of a sold-out festival crowd and serves up proof that the band lives up to their reputation of captivating and commanding live audiences.
In addition to the upcoming Live at Freak Valley release, Ape Machine has released three critically acclaimed full-length albums, two recent releases of which – Mangled By The Machine and War To Head– were produced by Ikey Owens (Jack White, Mars Volta, Mastodon) who also contributed keyboards to both albums. Owens was slated to produce the band’s fourth full-length this summer before his untimely death this past October while on tour with Jack White. In Ikey Owens’s absence, the band plans to record their next full length this April with long-time friend Jacob Golden producing.
Last year also found Ape Machine touring extensively, sharing the stage with bands such as Motorhead, Helmet, Orange Goblin, Crobot plus many others. With their Live At Freak Valley release arriving on 26th May, a new album in the pipeline and more planned for later in the year, 2015 promises to be busy year for one of the best new bands on the scene.
Live At Freak Valley will be released on LP and DVD by Ripple Music on 26th May 2015

Ripple Music announce signing of Californian Quartet Blackwülf | Stream new song via Decibel Magazine

“Heavy on the heavy, doomy on the riffing, this vintage metal band from Oakland, CA has hit the nail on the proverbial head.”
Heavy Planet
Ripple Music is thrilled to announce the signing of Oakland, California’s Blackwülf to their ever-growing and impressive roster of artists in 2015.

The band – made up of vocalist Alex Cunningham, guitarist Pete Holmes, drummer Dave Pankenier and bassist Scott Peterson – prowl the musical feeding grounds of stoner rock, doom-cloaked soundscapes and vintage heavy metal. Dark sonic forests that provide coverage for their unholy mix of parapsychological anger and aggression, and bluesy head-banging riffs.

With a résumé that includes member stints with bands like San Francisco’s Acid King, The Nads, Tucson’s Naked Prey and Mountain Pig, Blackwülf is already a seasoned predator. Formed in 2012, it wasn’t until January of last year that the band unleashed their debut album Mind Traveller on Wicker Man Recordings, pressed on clear red vinyl and featuring jacket illustrations from acclaimed San Franciscan artist Alan Forbes (Queens Of The Stone Age, The Misfits). The record, much like Blackwülf themselves was unabashed in its typical, “What you see is what you get” aesthetic. Melding heavy stoner riffs to sincere, pure rock indulgence that has since paved the way for the self-released 7” split single ‘Acid Reign’ with Portland’s Black Snake last September.

Offering up another dose of melody and raw power and a nod to the golden old schools of heavy 70s and 80s pre-thrash metal Blackwülf will release their new album this June via Ripple Music. In the meantime, check out the exclusive track ‘Wings Of Steel’ via Decibel Magazine here –http://www.decibelmagazine.com/featured/blackest-of-the-blackwulf-blackwulfs-wings-of-steel/

Photo: I've been working on this for over a year and am so psyched to finally break my silence. Ever since we formed Ripple, I'd always loved the old SubPop model of a subscription club. Well, this is our contribution to that legacy. Not a subscription, but an ongoing three times a year, 12" split series "The Second Coming of Heavy" Featuring the best and most exciting emerging bands from the underground, already onboard with the project are Borracho, Volume IV, Supervoid, Red Wizard, Desert Suns, Bonehawk, Blue Snaggletooth, Red Desert, Switchblade Jesus, Geezer, Chiefs, Red Mesa and more bands coming like crazy. Each "chapter" of the series will be strictly limited to 300, with no repressings and will have three editions, Black Virgin (for those who love black vinyl), OBI Edition, and the Resurrection Edition. These will be the most badass vinyl we've ever put out, with the art all tied together by Joseph Ruddell. Expect Chapter One to come out end April or early May. Here's a sneak peek at the first cover.

GEEZER release info for GAGE (EP) | Listen and share 'Ghost Rider Solar Plexus' via Ripple Music

Download and share 'Ghost Rider Solar Plexus', taken from Geezer's Gage EP viahttps://ripplemusic.bandcamp.com/track/ghost-rider-solar-plexus
"There’s an authenticity about Geezer that instantly puts them above their peers; the whiskey-soaked growl of Pat Harrington will take you down the Midwestern delta once more, while their heartfelt, gut-level grooves are reminiscent of ZZ Top circa 1973."
Chybucca Sounds

"Believe me folks when I say Geezer's debut EP is a work of genius. Stoner Rock of the highest order with great psychedelic riffs to match. Brilliant and highly recommended.”
The Sludgelord
Initially released as a run of extremely limited edition vinyl via STB Records in 2014, it’s little wonder that Geezer’s Gage EP sold out in practically no time at all. Yet such an unruly and original sonic meltdown of metal, psychedelia and blues-rock was never destined to stay gone for long.

This February, thanks to the California-based label Ripple Music it will receive an official worldwide release across Europe and North America.

"We're extremely excited to be working with Geezer to help spread their distorted heavy blues around the world,” explains label boss Todd Severin. “These cats are the real deal. They live it, they breathe it. It all comes through in Gage, which is a masterwork of heavy psychedelic blues. A real pace-setter for the scene.”

Recorded as a follow to their 2013 debut album Electrically Recorded Handmade Heavy Blues by the Kingston, New York trio – made up of Pat Harrington (Guitar, Vocals), Freddy Villano (Bass) and Chris Turco (Drums) – Gage now stands as the most complete release in Geezer’s canon. “The bass is a leviathan of low end rumble, the blues guitar forging molten riffs of iron and steel, and the drum work massive and purposeful.” (Heavy Planet)

Offering listeners an aural appreciation of the American outsider, it drops peyote grooves on opener ‘Ancient Song’, visits the Delta (‘Thorny’) and unleashes a number of fuzz-driven subterranean jams of the highest order. The best of which can be heard on EP highlight ‘Ghost Ride Solar Plexus’, a riotous trip into the hard-edged and heavy acid blues sounds of ’70s groups like Josefus and Blue Cheer. The loose and live feel of Harrington’s raw and unruly guitar and vocal work providing the perfect foil to Villano and Turco’s tight rhythm section.

Already hailed as one of 2014’s best in end of year polls by The Obelisk, The Ripple Effect and Heavy Planet, expect to hear a lot more from Geezer both onstage and on record. Known for their mind-bending live performances, they have shared bills with the likes of High On Fire, Wo Fat, The Midnight Ghost Train, Lo-Pan, Gozu and Borracho, as well as Volume IV, Order Of The Owl and Kings Destroy.

Geezer’s Gage EP will receive an official worldwide release via Ripple Music on 9th February 2015 (Europe) and 10th February 2015 (USA).

Listen to Gage EP in full at www.ripplemusic.bandcamp.com/album/gage

Geezer:
Pat Harrington – Guitar, Vocals
Freddy Villano – Bass
Chris Turco – Drums
More praise for Geezer:

"Handmade Heavy Blues is a deep and heavy blues based rock. Imagine The Black Keys with a bit more evil in them. Geezer even sounds a bit like Larmon Clamor mixed with a little Five Horse Johnson. Either way you look at it, you’re getting a heavy blues album that covers it all."
The Soda Shop

“It's a powerful and soothing expression of nearly a hundred years of music placed upon an altar that a thousand giants built and cherished, and this one may stand the test of time in ways that will continue to define the genre for a long time to come. Yes, it's that damn good.”
The Ripple Effect

“The whole thing sounds like a peyote trip in the desert. Languid guitar passages swirl visibly like heat rising from a long stretch of highway asphalt. You can taste the sand in your teeth, smell the chopper fumes, feel the urge to finally find solace in a dusty saloon. This shit works.”
Vinyl Junkies

“Smoke-tinged vocals, orange amped guitars and hard rhythms combine to form a sound like Charley Patton getting into a fist fight with Junior Kimbrough over who gets the last bottle of hooch in an old liquor store.”

Ripple Music -- Scant Amount of Rare Limited Edition LP's Recently Found

Ripple-Logo.jpg
Ripple Music Limited Edition LP's tend to sell out in minutes (like the Mothership II Cosmic Edition which was cleaned out completely in 15 minutes).  But every once in a while we discover a few in the warehouse and that becomes your opportunity to get in before they're all gone.  Not all Limited Editions are available (once they're sold out--they're out).  But we do have these gorgeous slabs of vinyl in very scant quantities available in the Ripple Store now.

You can find all these beauts, and more at the Ripple Music webstore:  www.ripple-music.com

A conceptual album that mixes animal aggression and technical precision, APE MACHINE’s Mangled By The Machine carries an organic depth and warmth rarely heard since the time of rock’s glorious early years, and infused with an exceptional modern sensibility. When the mystical lyrics lock in with the band’s stone-cold groove, APE MACHINE demonstrates an earth-shaking ability to rock. A true four-piece, the group has been called real heavy-psych for the iPhone generation that delivers true guts and glory rock and roll.

.S. Rock is the second release from the mighty Poobah (originally released in 1976) and the also the second to be re-issued by Ripple Music. The album features ten tracks in the original running order, remastered by T. Dallas Reed at HeavyHead Studios. This is the first time that this album has seen the light of day in almost forty years and the CD edition features four bonus tracks, including a blistering live rendition of “Steamroller”. Jim Gustafson, the Grand Poobah himself, delivers a resounding set of six string heroics that should have seen him sitting alongside the greats of the time, and shows why he is the Wizard of Heavy Psyche!

The first official live recording of the early 70's iconic cult group, Leaf Hound, captures a band that hasn't lost a step and knows how to get a crowd in a frenzy. Led by the enigmatic Peter French, Leaf Hound, who are best known for their epic 1971 album Growers Of Mushrooms, delivers a high energy and raucous performance for a rabid Japanese crowd. Mixing in classic material with the bands more recent tunes, Leaf Hound show no signs of letting up after four decades of plying their trade!

With equal parts elegant beauty and steamrolling aggression, Atlanta’s Volume IV serve up a piece of ear candy for the ages with Long In The Tooth. This first release with Ripple Music is a concise thirty-six minute thrill ride of swampy metal heroics, featuring heavy grooves, classic stoner riffs, and an overall impending sense of doom. Led by singer/guitarist Joe Carpenter (Nihilist) and filled out by bassist Blake Parris and drummer Troy King, Volume IV is set to stun the music world with one of the most anticipate releases of the year!.

Heavy melodies firmly planted on a foundation of steamroller rock n’ roll aggression is the fuel behind the latest offering from Northern Ireland export, Trucker Diablo. Songs of Iron picks up where the breakthrough hit album, The Devil Rhythm left off, blasting listeners with the sonic fury of modern heavy rock mixed with a road worn southern swagger.
