MOS GENERATOR: Ripple Music To Reissue Classic Album ‘Songs For Future Gods’

Mos Generator

Ripple Music and MOS GENERATOR have a long history of teaming up to bring the world the best in heavy stoner rock! Now, their latest collaboration is being unveiled.

Originally, MOS GENERATOR main man Tony Reed teamed with Ripple Music to release his then active band, Stone Axe (Stone Axe I, Stone Axe II, and Stone Axe Captured Live) and both parties knew they had to work together to bring back the raging sound of MOS GENERATOR. At that time, the band had been inactive for five years, but Reed and Ripple Music broke that silence with the glorious LP/CD combination package of the 10th Anniversary re-issue of MOS GENERATOR’s long-out-of-print debut album. Originally a CD only release, this was the debut album’s first ever release on vinyl (Available in the Ripple Store).

The response was so strong that Tony Reed re-united the band and soon released the critically hailed Ripple Music release, Nomads (review here and also in the Ripple Store) which led to resurgent tours of Europe and an ever-expanding audience for the heaviness of MOS GENERATOR.

Mos Generator 'Songs For Future Gods' Artwork

Now, on the eve of their Listenable Records debut release Electric Mountain Majesty, Ripple Music and Tony Reed once again announce their team-up to bring the definitive, “Director’s Cut” version of the MOS GENERATOR masterpiece album, Songs For Future Gods. Completely remastered, this re-issue of the 2007 release (originally on Small Stone Records) features a completely new mix and two songs from the aborted recording sessions from January 2006. The digipack also features modified cover art and packaging. This is the album as it was originally intended and still redefines the sound of MOS GENERATOR, a sprawling celebration of heavy amplification, fret-board psychotropics and kick-ass heavy rock. Songs From Future Gods is classic MOS GENERATOR and this is the definitive cut of the album.

While in the Ripple Store, you can also check out Tony Reed’s solo album, Ediz Hook, his psychedelic work as HeavyPink, the classic Stone Axe albums, as well as other MOS GENERATOR LP’s, 10” and CD goodies like Tales From The Vault, The Vault Sessions, Destroy! The Mos Generator, and The Late Great Planet Earth. Keep your eyes open for more Ripple Music and Tony Reed collaborations to come soon.

Ripple Music and Devil to Pay Auction Extremely Rare Test Pressing of Fate is Your Muse to Benefit the Medical Needs of Doommantia Founder, Ed Barnard

Ripple Music and Devil to Pay Auction Extremely Rare Test Pressing of Fate is Your Muse to Benefit the Medical Needs of Doommantia Founder, Ed Barnard

Ripple Music is proud to announce the latest in their ongoing series of rare test pressing auctions for charity, this time benefiting the medical needs of Doommantia founder, Ed Barnard.  The long-running site, Doommantia (www.doommantia.com) is one of the leading forces bringing CD Reviews, Interviews, Authorized free downloads and Promotion for bands in the Doom, Stoner, Psychedelic, Drone, Sludge Metal genres.  The site also has an active forum (www.doommantiaforum.com) for heavy rock maniacs to share ideas and views, creating a solid doom rock community.

For those unaware, Ed had been forced into homeless by a medical condition but still manages to keep the Doommantia site viable online. Ed suffered a series of  heart attacks that forced Ed to become unemployed.  Those events, plus the exorbitant cost of cardiac medications made paying the rent an impossibility and he was evicted from his place in Aberdeen, Washington. Now homeless, the doom and metal community has been rallying around his cause with benefit concerts and a compilation of 39 heavy bands that all donated their music to help Ed's cause. The compilation,  Doommantia Vol. 1, is available at: doommantiavol1.bandcamp.com

Now Ripple Music offers their assistance to help a musical brother in need.  After establishing an ongoing company policy of giving back to the community, Ripple Music has auctioned off some of their rarest test pressings to help the BP Spill Gulf Clean Up, Wounded Warriors, Sloan-Kettering Cancer Research, and Joplin Missouri Tornado Relief, amongst others. The auction of the extremely rare test press for Devil To Pay's Fate is Your Muse will continue that tradition, offering heavy rock/doom fans a chance to get one of only two test-pressings ever to be released to the public.

Fate is Your Muse was unleashed upon an eagerly-waiting audience, April 9th, 2013 and immediately garnered critical rave reviews, leading Shakefire.com to boast, "If you love Rock music, you have to check out Fate is your Muse and Devil to Pay. If these guys aren't rock legends already, they will be for sure soon."

The Fate is Your Muse Rare Test Press Auction is live on eBay at this location.

100% of proceeds from the auction will be used to help help Mr. Barnard regain his self-sufficiency. Don't miss this chance to own a unique Doom Collectible LP and support the heavy rock community.

Press raves about Fate is Your Muse.

"If you love Rock music, you have to check out "Fate is your Muse" and Devil to Pay. If these guys aren't rock legends already, they will be for sure soon." - Shakefire.com

"I  really feel I can't recommend this enough to the Stoner Rock/Metal heads out there.  From the album's aggressive opener "Prepare To Die" till the Doom-tuned "Beyond The Ether", you'll deal with head-banging Stoner-laden riffs, kickass hard-hitting drumming (hail Chad!), and on top of everything, Steve's essential Grunge-like vocals who definitely sounds like Josh Homme in fluoxetine (prozac).  DEVIL TO PAY deserve our total respect.." - Metal Kaoz

"That is what you get with Fate is Your Muse. A hard-rocking collection of great Sludge/Stoner Metal tracks to rock out to. Hugely entertaining from the word go. Devil To Pay have lost none of their magic. They simply get better with age. If you are already a fan of this great band then you are going to love this album. If you are a new visitor to the world of Devil To Pay then this is a great place to start. If you are a fan of Kyuss, Thin Lizzy, and Black Sabbath then you will be right at home here." - The Sludgelord

"Such a killer find, man. Can't wait to see them live!"
- Dom Lawson (Metal Hammer / Classic Rock)

"Been listening to Mothership all day now and if feels like UFO and Orange Goblin got drunk with St. Vitus, smoked some weed with Blue Cheer and spewed out the tuffest blues-drenched, no frills love child I've heard all month. Some ridiculously badass guitars. And heavy above all else!" -- Sword of Doom

"Try to resist a band that plays blues-laden metal with heavy guitar riffs that is also hoping for intergalactic travel. Mothership is a three piece from Dallas that alternates between an almost AC/DC-like sound on a track like 'City Nights' and a broader, heavier and more epic sound on tracks like 'Cosmic Rain,' 'Angel of Death' and the opener, 'Hallucination.'
-- VueWeekly.com

Mothership Bio

Rock n' Roll history is rife with brothers working together to create their artistic vision. But rarely do we hear about a full-fledged family unit embarking down the treacherous path of a musical career. In the case of Texas based Mothership, the Brother Juett (Kyle on bass, younger brother Kelley on guitar) enlisted the aid of their father, John Juett, to help get the 'ship off the ground. Raised on a healthy dose of their father's 70's-era record collection, the brothers began crafting songs fueled on the raucous and raw good time vibe when music seemed to know no bounds. Lifting off the pad for the first time in 2010, the band began to gain momentum and notoriety with their unabashed live shows. Knowing that the service of the family patriarch was temporary, Father Juett actively helped his boys find his replacement, and in late 2011, enter the mighty Judge Smith to hammer away on the skins. In early 2012, Mothership entered Crystal Clear Studios with Wo Fat mastermind Kent Stump manning the boards and by mid-year, the band self-released their debut album. It was the combination of the 70's-era heavy rock fuzz and fury mixed with the blistering guitar solos of the NWOBHM-era that drew the bands attention to California-based Heavy Rock label, Ripple Music. In the waning months of 2012, after a successful year of traveling regionally throughout Texas and opening for national acts such as Prong, Red Fang, Gypsyhawk, Earthen Grave, and Lo-Pan, Mothership officially dubbed Ripple Music as its Home Port and began plotting a course for their first U.S. Tour in early 2013.

 - WeLoveMetal.com

"This is an excellent album, catchy, groove rich and addictive . . . all (of the tracks) are of the same catchy, infectious quality. Get a copy and by the second listen I guarantee you will be singing along." [4/5] -  Metal Talk.net

"Just about the best stoner rock band in England right now. Grifter build every one of their songs around monstrously grooving, simple riffs and smooth southern vocals. Something akin to Clutch jamming with Kim Thayil. Several songs, including opener Good Day For Bad News, Preacher And The Devil and Alabama Hotpocket are simply jammed with big riffs, and even when they go for an acoustic blues track to close with Gone Blues they can't help but groove." - JukeBox:Metal

A New Generation Turns on to the Music of Iron Claw in the Most Surprising Way

Capping off a year that found Scotland's Iron Claw being hailed as the Rock n’ Roll comeback story of the Decade, Iron Claw has opened the ears of a whole new generation to their primal, proto-metal sound. And they've done it in the most unexpected way.

Rightly hailed as one of the silent legends, the pioneers of British Heavy Metal and Hard Rock, with their Ripple Music debut, A Different Game, Iron Claw proved that their role in Rock history shall never go unspoken again. A hard biting, bluesy album found the band re-energized and vibrant on their first ever official releases. Yet, it was an entirely different avenue that has brought fans clamoring for more Iron Claw.

Skateboarding videos.

Yes, the skateboard (and snowboard crowd) have rallied to Iron Claw's beastly metallic roar with aplomb. You can find Iron Claw music gracing a litany of boarding videos from different producers, different times, and different scenes. Recently, they were even requested to lend their song "Real Mean Rocker" to a snowboarding movie entitled "Snake Bite" produced KBR Productions in Finland.

The skaters and boarders can't seem to get enough Iron Claw.

Don't miss out on your chance to catch this latest chapter in the ongoing rock and roll history that is Iron Claw. Check out Thrasher's latest video, "Supra Presents Lizard King's Passion Trip part 3" and keep your ears open for that raging Iron Claw sound.

And don't forget to check out A Different Game, still available on Ripple Music and world-wide through Nail Distribution, Code 7 Distribution, Clearspot International and at the label’s web store.

Here’s what the press are saying:

"The songs crackle along, the voice conveys experience and resolve, the solos tasteful. An effortlessly playable collection of working man's hard rock, and a heartening reassertion of power from metal's forgotten founding fathers. 8 out of 10" -- Metal Hammer, Issue 225

"Scotland's Proto-Metal pioneers, Iron Claw, return with a long-awaited album of gritty, blues-based melodic heavy rock that is already garnering album-of-the-year accolades." - Puregrainaudio

"This is a solid, dynamic, vintage rock ‘n roll record, 13 tracks spanning 57 minutes yet hardly a dull moment to be found. A Different Game is more of the same—high quality heavy rock unearthed from the underground" - Hellbound.ca

"My first listen to A Different Game should not have been in my car: the rear speakers are nearly blown. Thanks to the heavy end of Iron Claw, they're likely obliterated!" - Dangerdog.com

Legendary Acid Rockers, JPT Scare Band, Drop Hard Rocking New Single and Video “Long Day” to Celebrate National 420 Day. Exclusive World Premiere on The Obelisk

After more than 3 solid months of Acid Blues is the White Man’s Burden, holding down a top 5 spot in CD Baby.com’s Extended Jam Category, legendary acid rockers, JPT Scare Band come roaring back with a blitzing assault on their newest single, “Long Day.”  Featuring the sizzling guitar work of Terry Swope, “Long Day,” tears through more than 7 minutes of searing guitar leads, massive bass riffs, and mammoth drum jamming, all in the definitive JPT Scare Band style.

To make things even more appropriate, JPT Scare Band and Ripple Music will release the single and world-premiere of the psychedelic video on April 20, 2011, National Weed Day.  The term 420 originated from a group of teenagers at San Rafael High School in California in 1971. The teens met after school at 4:20 p.m. to smoke out at the Louis Pasteur statue.  Since then, the date has become legendary in the Stoner Rock community.  An ethos JPT Scare Band embraces whole heartedly.

After years of plying their frenzied, hard-rocking, acid blues trade in near obscurity, the love and accolades keep pouring in for JPT Scare BandClassic Rock Magazine honored JPT by including their last single “Not My Fault” on their November cover-mounted CD.   After previously naming JPT Scare Band one of the “lost pioneers of heavy metal,” Classic Rock continued the love fest proclaiming that “JPT Scare Band plied a terrifying form of ear-bludgeoning hard rock that was so far ahead of its time, people are still trying to catch up.”

The world premiere of the hard-rocking, definitively heavy psych video for “Long Day,” will make its debut April 20th exclusively at The Obelisk, one of stoner rock’s premiere websites and the home of The Obelisk Forum, a watering hole for thousands of fans of hard, heavy, stoner and doom rock.  You can find the video here: The Obeliskhttp://theobelisk.net/obelisk/2011/04/19/jptvid/

“Long Day” will be available as a digital single from CD Baby and all fine digital music emporiums.   Meanwhile, Acid Blues is the White Man’s Burden is still available in limited quantities from Ripple Music in two-toned, gatefold, double-LP with two bonus tracks, Deluxe digipack CD, or digital at www.ripple-music.com
